A trolling charter is one of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to fish the big Snowy Mountains lakes. Based in Cooma, we run guided trolling trips from the boat on Lake Eucumbene and Lake Jindabyne, covering water and staying on the fish through the day while you relax and enjoy the surroundings.

You do not need any experience to come along. We handle the boat, the gear and the technique, and coach you through the fishing as we go, so everyone on board is part of the action.

How trolling works

Trolling means drawing lures behind a moving boat at the depth and speed the trout are feeding. We read the conditions and the water and set the spread to suit, adjusting through the day as the fish move. It is an active, engaging way to fish that keeps lines in the water and rods within reach.

When the fish are up in the water column we run lures in the surface layers, and when they hold deeper we go down to meet them.

We fish a range of proven techniques and choose the right one for the day. Lead core line lets us present lures at a controlled depth without extra weight, and downrigging takes lures right down to trout holding deep in the warmer months. Lure selection, colour, depth and speed all come into it, and we set and adjust each as the fishing tells us what is working.
