Mick Couvée
My name is Mick Couvée
I've been a fly fisherman for over 40 years. I started fishing in small streams and rivers around the Snowy Mountains, including the McLoughlan, Eucumbene, Bobundra, Murrumbidgee and Thredbo as well as the Snowy Mountains lakes of Tantangra, Eucumbene and Jindabyne.
Professionally I have been a Paramedic for the last 43 years, and have found fishing to be a great form of relaxation and stress relief. I have taken many First Responders and Defence personnel fishing in the Snowy Mountains area and they have found it relaxing.

Where we fish

Every review, five stars. Real days, real fish, real people.
Mick is a great guide and a knowledgeable local. The boat was spotless, he was patient all day, told us great stories, and we finished with five trout. A very enjoyable experience.
Trout fishing tips
Practical lure, fly and technique guides for the Snowy Mountains and Tasmania.

Trout Lures - Tassie Devils, Rapala & Loftys
On the Snowy Mountains lakes and the Tasmanian highlands, a handful of trusted lures will cover most days. Mick keeps it simple and fishes the ones he has confidence in.

Midge Fishing for Trout
Midge fishing is some of the most absorbing fly fishing you can do on our highland lakes. When midge come off in numbers the trout key in on them.

Lure Casting for Trout
Casting and retrieving lures is one of the most rewarding ways to fish for trout. It lets you search water quickly and present a lure right where a fish is holding.
